Taal Vista Hotel Transforms Orphanage Garden into a Source of Growth and Hope

On April 29, 2025, the Taal Vista Hotel team, led by General Manager Ramon Makilan, Director of Operations Brenda Cabuyao, and HRD Manager Tinay Salcedo, visited the Augustinian Sisters of Jesus and Mary Orphanage, located along Cabangaan Road, Iruhin West, Tagaytay City, to bring a meaningful initiative to life. Guided by the hotel’s Sustainability Team, the group cleaned and transformed a vacant area within the orphanage into a vegetable garden, a space that now promotes sustainability, learning, and nourishment.

Volunteers from different departments, including Admin and Operations, worked hand in hand to prepare the land, plant seedlings, and teach the children how to care for the garden. The children learned how to water and tend to the plants, fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental awareness from a young age.

The initiative was not just about planting, but also about nurturing values, teamwork, care for nature, and the joy of growing food which are at the heart of Taal Vista Hotel’s Plate for the Planet advocacy. This project aligns with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability by inspiring small yet impactful acts that promote environmental consciousness and community engagement.

On July 24, the Taal Vista Hotel team returned to the orphanage for a heartwarming follow-up visit. The Sisters joyfully shared that the children had already harvested some of the vegetables, proudly enjoying the fruits of their labor. The once-empty space now thrives with life and serves as a source of fresh produce and pride for the community.
